Scorpios Encounters is an unprecedented experimental cultural programme presenting a comprehensive curated selection of generative artists and musicians.
The inaugural edition titled 'In Resonance', will run for 7 weeks (13 July - 3 September) at Scorpios, Mykonos, and will feature curated art installations with bespoke music compositions, live musical performances and exclusive digital art drops.
Leading generative and new media artist Refik Anadol launches the programme with a remarkable artwork co-created with the Yawanawa Indigenous Peoples of Brazil - using Yawanawa natural and cultural heritage - in a collaboration spearheaded by Impact One. The artist Refik Anadol and project initiator Impact One are waiving their full share of the revenues, to dedicate the full creator's share to the Yawanawa community.
Revenues from the Digital Collectable sales will flow directly into the crypto wallet to be established by the community to receive the funds.
New media artist Refik Anadol and the Yawanawa community are collaborating on an artwork and limited digital collection to fund the protection of Yawanawa natural and cultural heritage. Impact one initiated the collaboration and is supporting the partnership.
The collaboration will be launched at Scorpios Mykonos in July 2023, with programming including informational events, talks, musical performances, and concerts. The artwork series, co-created by Anadol and the community, reflects the Yawanawa culture and their connection to the amazon rainforest. The proceeds from the digital collection sale will support long-term initiatives for the protection of Yawanawa lands and cultural heritage. Impact one's possible futures program aims to establish new modes of living for a sustainable future, with a focus on the amazon region.
